Kiddicraft is a British toy company founded in 1932 by Hilary Page in Surrey, England. Hilary Page was a psychologist, child advocate, and toy designer who mainly focused on innovative, educational, and colorful plastic toys for children. The toys were marketed as “Sensible Toys.” The company was famous for inventing the “Self-Locking Building Bricks,” which were a precursor to LEGO bricks. The Self-Locking Building Bricks were invented in 1930 and patented in 1940. Before the bricks were widely popular, Hilary Page’s life was tragically cut short in 1952.
